Wedding Photography Created Around You.

A Natural Style For Your Wedding Day

Being a wedding photographer isn’t about taking a photograph that will just stay in a book and never be seen. Wedding photography is about creating an image that that will inspire memories for years to come.

As a documentary wedding photographer I act as a visual storyteller. My passion is for creating images in my natural, reportage style of wedding photography. Images that capture those candid memories of your big day. Images that grab the emotion and fun and put them into a photograph that you can treasure.

A New Era For Wedding Photography

Over the last few months I have seen some major changes in the wedding industry that may affect the way that wedding couples plan their wedding for some time. Changes from the number of wedding guests at the ceremony to the popular wedding party in the evening.

I have never had two wedding clients the same and neither have two weddings ever been the same. Why then should all wedding packages be the same? At this time this is more apparent than ever before. Wedding couples have been affected over the last few months in many different ways with some weddings having their guest numbers reduced from over one hundred guests down to just thirty, while others have had their venues changed due to availability.

One other major change is the increase in midweek weddings, with Thursday being the new Saturday. All of these factors have made me change the way that I price my weddings so that they allow for a pricing structure that is as unique as my wedding clients.

I no longer have set packages and now prepare individual quotes for each of my clients based on what they would like included and their individual budgets.

My Style As A Wedding Photographer.

I have a laid back friendly approach as a wedding photographer, which means you and your guests will see me as a friend with a camera. My aim is to blend in (as much as possible with 2 cameras). I want to capture the natural joy and emotion so I won’t be telling you or your guests where and how to stand.

The majority of the time you will find me either capturing those beautiful moments that happen, or scanning the room watching for them about to happen. Smiles, laughter, tears, those real emotions that are on display during a wedding day. I aim to capture all of those special moments without getting in the way, or making people feel uncomfortable.

Don’t worry though there will still be time to get those all important family and group photos, and some of you, the stars of the day.

Wedding Photography – Beaconsfield Registry Office, Beaconsfield, Bucks

I always enjoy a visit to the Old Town in Beaconsfield, partly because it’s such beautiful historical town and partly because it’s where I lived and played as a child. So when I was asked to photograph a wedding at the registry office there I jumped at the chance.

Okay, the weather wasn’t great but armed with an umbrella that wasn’t going to stop the happy bride as she arrived at the registry office.

How much should wedding photography cost?

If you have looked at wedding photography pricing you are possibly aware by now of how expensive wedding photography can be. In fact, the average price for a wedding photographer in 2019/20 is £1,560 (survey from www.yourperfectweddingphotographer.co.uk). It’s a figure that seems to have stayed almost constant for the last five years.

With a wedding photographer being in the top three things to prioritise for a wedding most websites will advise that you should set aside 10-15% of your budget for a wedding photographer.

Wedding Photography – Bodicote House & Cromwell Lodge Hotel, Banbury, Oxfordshire

It was time for another visit to Banbury in Oxfordshire. More to the point two different venues, Bodicote House (the registry office) for the ceremony before going on to the Cromwell Lodge Hotel for the wedding reception.

As I arrived I quickly found the ceremony room and had a look around, as soon as I saw the staircase I knew I could do something with that. It wasn’t long either before I saw the perfect opportunity.
As I arrived St Michael’s Manor I could see it had the perfect romantic setting with function rooms, lounge, bar, terrace and some magnificent gardens with a lake.
