Wedding Photography - St Michaels Manor, St Albans
My wedding photography has taken me to St Albans on many occasion, usually to the registry office (or The Gatehouse), so it was great to be visiting a wedding at St Michael’s Manor hotel.
As I arrived St Michael’s Manor I could see it had the perfect romantic setting with function rooms, lounge, bar, terrace and some magnificent gardens with a lake.
Due to the time of year I had discussed the possibility of rain with the bride and groom and we already had our back up plan ready… umbrellas.
After arriving the friendly staff showed me around the areas of the hotel that we would be using. Then I had the opportunity to meet the groom and other guests as they finished off getting ready for the big day.
Everything appeared so relaxed as some sat in the lounge area while other made the most of a quick drink at the bar before the ceremony began.
I must say there is something wonderful about seeing an older couple getting married and this wedding did nothing to dispel that feeling for me.
The family feeling over the whole day was amazing from the son’s giving the parents away and the grandchildren all taking their part.
It wasn’t just me shedding a tear or two either.
The ceremony done it was time for us to go out into the grounds around St Michael’s Manor and to find the lake.
The weather may have held off but as we had brought the back up plan we were going to use those umbrellas.
The group photographs done and the rain just starting it was time to head inside again and almost time for me to say goodbye.
First of all though there was still enough time to capture the table which had been laid out by the staff while we had been outside.
